Mediaset in Spain, the country’s largest television network, has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights for the 2014/2015 FIA Formula E Championship.
Beginning in two days’ time in Beijing, Formula E is the FIA’s new fully-electric single-seater championship designed to appeal to a new generation of motorsport fans. The opening race takes place on a street circuit around the city’s Olympic ‘Bird’s Nest’ Stadium, using cars capable of speeds in excess of 150mph (225kph). Its 10 teams feature some of the leading international names in motorsport including Alain Prost and Michael Andretti, whilst its top driver line-up includes the likes of Jarno Trulli, Sebastien Buemi and Spaniards Jaime Alguersuari and Oriol Servia.
